Our work: the website for the First Sips wine app
First Sips is a wine app for curious drinkers. Point your phone at a label and it tells you what the wine is, when to drink it, what to eat with it and how it should taste. It also keeps a digital cellar, which you can share, and a tasting journal. It is on iPhone now, with Android announced.
What the website needed to do
Feel as considered as a good bottle, and get people to download the app. Wine can feel intimidating, so the site had to be refined without being snobbish.
What we built
- A clean, refined home page that explains what the app does straight away.
- A section for each feature: the cellar, shared cellars, the journal and the pocket sommelier.
- A clear route to the App Store, because getting the app onto people's phones is what the site is for.
What we did
Branding and web design.
What a new business can take from it
Decide the one thing your website is for, whether that is a download, a phone call or a booking, and make every page lead to it.
